In this XL version, the stem measures 60 mm and is intended for rims with depths between 30 and 50 mm. The coreless pass-through design delivers airflow up to 230% higher than a traditional Presta valve, while maintaining compatibility with Presta rim holes and pumps.

Pass-through design and ball valve

The heart of the system is a stainless steel ball valve with seals and O-rings, operated by an integrated external lever: it allows you to open and close airflow quickly and adjust pressure without removing any core, eliminating the issue of sealant-clogged cores. The Lite version head has an inner diameter of 3.3 mm and retains the Presta-style connection. The valve body screws onto the stem, so lengths are not directly comparable with those of traditional valves.

Materials, compatibility and installation

The body is CNC-machined from aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum with an anodized finish and is fully serviceable. The 4-way flow base is compatible with most tubeless inserts, while the 4 mm hex key seat at the bottom of the stem makes valve installation and removal easier.

Technical features

Type: high-flow tubeless valves, Lite version.

Size: XL, 60 mm stem length.

Recommended rim depth: 30–50 mm.

Rim compatibility: Presta valve hole.

Pump compatibility: Presta connection.

Airflow: up to 230% higher than a standard Presta valve.

Inner head diameter: 3.3 mm.

Body: CNC-machined 7075 aluminum with anodized finish.

Ball valve: stainless steel with integrated lever, seals and O-rings.

Installation: 4 mm hex key seat, 4-way base compatible with most tubeless inserts.

Frequently asked questions

Which rims is the XL 60 mm size suitable for?

Muc-Off recommends the XL size for rims with depths between 30 and 50 mm: choose the length based on rim depth, leaving enough thread to secure the lockring and valve body.

What pump do I need to inflate Big Bore Lite?

The Lite version uses a Presta connection: it inflates with a standard Presta pump and requires a rim with a Presta valve hole.

How much more airflow do they offer compared to a Presta valve?

Big Bore Lite deliver up to 230% higher airflow than a standard Presta valve, thanks to the coreless pass-through design.

How do you open and close the valve?

The valve opens and closes by turning the integrated external lever, which actuates the internal stainless steel ball valve, with no need to remove any core.

Do Big Bore sizes correspond to traditional valve sizes?

No: the valve body screws over the stem, so the stem is shorter than on traditional valves and lengths are not directly comparable.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0532/7139/6534/files/Valvole-Muc-off-Big-Bore-Lite-XL-60mm-Rosso-All-62.webp?v=1793214343
