Vittoria Mezcal XC Trail Tire 29x2.40: Balanced Performance for Technical Trails

The Mezcal XC Trail is the ideal choice for riders seeking a versatile XC tire capable of handling changing conditions without compromise. The continuous center tread ensures fast, efficient rolling on compact terrain, while the grooved extensions optimize climbing traction and braking on mixed surfaces. The side knob geometry, featuring directional knurling parallel to the rolling direction with varying widths and open edges, ensures precise, predictable cornering even on hard and slippery ground. This tire combines proven race technology — backed by victories at the UCI World Championships and XCO European Championships — with a construction profile designed for demanding riders.

Vittoria’s 4Compound Formulation places four specialized rubber compounds in the critical areas of the tread, creating an optimal balance of speed, traction, and durability . This construction strategy helps reduce localized wear and maintain consistent performance over time, a crucial factor for riders who log high weekly mileage. The rubber compound has been developed to perform effectively on varied terrain: sand, mud, rocks, and roots all deliver dependable grip without compromising rolling speed on compact sections, making the Mezcal a versatile XC trail solution for every season.

The Trail casing combines lightness and durability through a tubeless-ready nylon construction with reinforced sidewalls and a puncture protection belt. At just 920 g, the tire is well suited to long rides without adding unnecessary weight to the bike, while still providing the strength required on technical and demanding trails. Tubeless compatibility reduces the risk of punctures and allows lower pressures for increased traction, while side protection offers peace of mind on trails with natural obstacles. The 29x2.40 size (ETRTO 60-622) makes it a benchmark choice for modern hardtail and full suspension bikes.
