Jersey Karpos Dinamico Merino 130 base layer: short-sleeve merino wool first layer
The Jersey Karpos Dinamico Merino 130 base layer is a merino wool base layer T-shirt that is soft, breathable, and insulating, designed as a first layer for winter outdoor activities. In winter, the rule is to dress in layers: the garment in contact with the skin is designed to wick moisture away from the body and keep it dry, while the upper layers are removed or added to regulate temperature. It is a Jersey merino wool base layer with a crew neck and a net weight of 132 g.
Merino wool: warmth, breathability, and odor control
The fabric is made of 91% wool and 9% elastane. Merino wool insulates from the cold as well as the heat and retains warmth even when damp; it is a natural antibacterial fiber that ensures odor control, feels soft against the skin, and offers UV protection. Karpos uses only mulesing-free certified wool from farms that ensure respectful treatment of sheep.
Fit, details, and recommended activities
The fit is Body Fit, close to the body as required for a first layer, and the flatlock seams enhance next-to-skin comfort. In Karpos technical ratings, it achieves 5 out of 5 breathability, and 2 out of 5 for thermal insulation and packability. The brand gives it the highest score for hiking, climbing, mountaineering, and ski mountaineering, and 3 out of 5 for trail running and mountain biking.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose a merino wool first layer?
Merino wool wicks moisture away from the skin, insulates from the cold as well as the heat, and retains warmth even when damp. It is also a natural antibacterial fiber that helps limit odor formation.
What material is it made of?
The fabric is made of 91% wool and 9% elastane. The wool is mulesing-free certified, and the elastane makes the Jersey stretchy and close-fitting; the net weight stated by Karpos is 132 g.
How does it fit?
It has a Body Fit, meaning it sits close to the body, as needed for a first layer that must stay in contact with the skin. The crew neck and flatlock seams enhance comfort.
Which activities is it suitable for?
Karpos rates it 5 out of 5 for hiking, climbing, mountaineering, and ski mountaineering, and 3 out of 5 for trail running and mountain biking. It is designed as a base layer for winter outdoor activities.
