La Passione Merino base layer: a short-sleeve merino wool base layer
The La Passione Merino base layer is a short-sleeve technical underlayer designed to sit next to the skin beneath a cycling jersey. It helps regulate body temperature during your ride, keeping the chill off at the start and on descents while helping prevent overheating as your effort increases. It is a first layer for every season, from cooler days to warmer conditions.
Merino and synthetic fibres: how they work together
The fabric blends 41% merino wool with 51% polyester and 8% elastane. Merino is a natural fibre that manages perspiration and helps limit odour, a useful quality on long rides and cycling trips. The synthetic component improves strength and durability, while elastane adds stretch so the layer fits close to the body without restricting movement.
How to wear it and available sizes
Wear it directly against the skin, beneath a short- or long-sleeve jersey. Its close fit is typical of a base layer: the better the fabric contacts the body, the more effectively it can move moisture outwards. The chest features La Passione’s signature series of dashes. This men’s model comes in sizes XS to XXXL in mélange grey.

Which season is it for?
La Passione presents it as a base layer for every season: merino wool helps regulate temperature beneath your jersey, both on cooler days and in warm conditions when you perspire more.
Why a merino blend rather than 100% wool?
Merino manages perspiration and helps limit odour, while polyester improves strength and durability. The 8% elastane makes the fabric stretchy and close-fitting, as a base layer should be.
How should it fit?
Like any base layer, it should fit closely and sit next to the skin. This helps the fabric move moisture outwards and prevents folds beneath your jersey.
What can I wear it with?

Non-EU shipping
Local VAT and any customs duties for shipments of goods to customers outside the European Union (non-EU) will be charged to the recipient and requested by the courier at the time of delivery. If the delivery is not made due to refusal to pay the customs duties (local VAT and any applicable tariffs) requested by the importing country, all costs incurred by us for the return of the goods will be deducted from the refund.

Returns and refunds
Returns and refunds
- You can request a return within 60 days of delivery.
- Start your request from the Returns and Order Cancellations page by entering your order number.
- Within the first 14 days, you may try the product as necessary to check its features and fit.
- From day 15 to day 60, the product must be unused, intact and complete with original packaging, labels and accessories.
- Use beyond what is necessary may result in a reduction of the refund based on the loss in value of the product.
- The refund is issued, after the returned item has been checked, using the same payment method used for the order.
- If you paid by cash on delivery, please provide a valid IBAN in the return request notes.
- Direct exchanges for size, colour or model are not available: return the item and place a new order.
- For incorrect, damaged or defective products, please contact Customer Service before making the return.

- Use suitable packaging to protect the product during transport.
- Place the product's original packaging inside an outer shipping package.
- Do not apply adhesive tape, shipping labels or writing directly to the original packaging.
- Return all accessories, manuals, components and any complimentary items received.
- Do not remove tags, labels or seals unless necessary to inspect the product.
- When trying on clothing that you may return, avoid perfume, deodorant or any use that may leave odours or marks.
- Use a trackable shipping service and keep the shipping receipt until the return has been completed.
