Dynamic Double Checker: chain and disc rotor wear gauge
Dynamic Double Checker starts from a simple fact: checking chain and brake rotor wear is essential to get the most from your components and ride safely. A worn chain is slower, wears out the whole drivetrain and can break more easily; rotors that are too thin drastically reduce braking power compared with new ones.
Measures real pin wear and rotor thickness
The three-point design measures real pin wear, the most relevant parameter, excluding the influence of roller wear that skews many traditional gauges. It works with 7- to 13-speed chains, including SRAM Flattop, Shimano and Campagnolo. The rotor slots are dedicated to SRAM, Shimano, Campagnolo, Magura and Hope rotors. It is made of anodised aluminium, with a chain hook and a ruler.
How to read the measurements
For the chain, insert points 1 and 2 with the pins facing down, lift the chain to put it under tension and press point 3. Below 0.5% the chain is in good condition; at 0.5% 11-, 12- and 13-speed chains need replacing, at 0.75% 7- to 10-speed chains. If the rotor fits into its brand's slot, it needs replacing.

Frequently asked questions
Why exclude roller wear?
Many gauges rest on the rollers and add their play to the real elongation, flagging a chain for replacement too early. The Double Checker measures pin wear only.
When should the chain be replaced?
With 11-, 12- and 13-speed chains when the indicator reaches 0.5%; with 7- to 10-speed chains at 0.75%. Below 0.5% the chain is in good condition.
How are rotors checked?
Choose the slot for your rotor's brand: if the rotor fits, it needs replacing. If in doubt, check the minimum thickness stated on the rotor itself.
What is the chain hook for?
It holds the two ends of the chain together without tension between them, so you can open or close the quick link in a stable, clean way. It is particularly handy when replacing the chain.

Non-EU shipping

- You can request a return within 60 days of delivery.
- Start your request from the Returns and Order Cancellations page by entering your order number.
- Within the first 14 days, you may try the product as necessary to check its features and fit.
- From day 15 to day 60, the product must be unused, intact and complete with original packaging, labels and accessories.
- Use beyond what is necessary may result in a reduction of the refund based on the loss in value of the product.
- The refund is issued, after the returned item has been checked, using the same payment method used for the order.
- If you paid by cash on delivery, please provide a valid IBAN in the return request notes.
- Direct exchanges for size, colour or model are not available: return the item and place a new order.
- For incorrect, damaged or defective products, please contact Customer Service before making the return.

- Place the product's original packaging inside an outer shipping package.
