As in previous models, the new Shamal - Dual Profile also adopts a unidirectional fiber with C-LUX finish, a hidden but fundamental feature for the quality of the final product: the laminates do not intertwine but are arranged one on top of the other in a structure that allows for homogeneous distribution of mechanical loads along the direction of the fibers. A solution that, translated on the road, allows for optimal handling in every condition, also allowing the use of generous tires even in gravel environments. Responding to the increasing demand for wheels equipped with wider tires for better rolling and cyclist comfort, the Shamal - Dual Profile wheels offer an internal channel with hook technology, capable of accommodating a wide range of tire sizes, starting from 28 mm and above. The essence of the new Campagnolo Shamal is also evident from the 2-Way Fit system, which allows the cyclist to choose between the classic clincher and inner tube or the tubeless solution, made possible by the upper bridge without holes, thus avoiding the need for sealing tape. For the positioning of the nipples, the Shamal adopts the proven MoMag system, which guides them into place using a magnet.
The spokes are arranged with the G3 lacing geometry, an iconic signature of Campagnolo production, which features seven spokes from three parallel spokes differentiated in a 2 to 1 ratio: two spokes on the side subjected to greater load (the right on the rear wheel due to the cassette; the left on the front wheel, due to the disc), balanced by a pulling spoke on the opposite side. A patented system, which ensures the cyclist perfect balance of tensioning and the best stiffness for the transfer of power generated by the pedals. The smoothness of the new Campagnolo Shamal is entrusted to aluminum hubs with a cone-cup system, which allows for easy maintenance of the bearings.
