Karpos Philipp Flamm Hoodie Women’s Jacket: lightweight, packable down insulation
The Karpos Philipp Flamm Hoodie Women’s Jacket is the limited-edition reissue of the first insulated garment signed by Karpos in 2008, updated with recycled materials. The original design answered the needs of alpinists tackling the most demanding walls: to always carry a women’s down jacket that is highly warm, yet light and easy to compress. The result is a 390 g jacket with a Regular Fit, whose glossy finish also makes it suitable for everyday city wear.
800 fill power down insulation
Warmth is provided by certified duck down insulation, in a 90/10 ratio of down to feathers, with 800 fill power. Fill power measures the volume occupied by the down for the same weight: the higher it is, the more air is trapped and the better the balance between insulation and lightness. Karpos places this model at the top level of its thermal insulation scale (5 out of 5) and recommends it for hiking and ski mountaineering, as well as for leisure time.
Recycled Pertex Quantum fabric and functional details
The outer shell is made of 100% recycled Pertex® Quantum, a polyamide fabric chosen to keep weight and bulk down, finished with a DWR treatment for water repellency with no intentionally added PFAS. The polyester lining is also 100% recycled. The garment is completed by the shaped hood, front zip, and two concealed zip pockets. The winter jacket packs into the included down bag, convenient to slip into a backpack.

Frequently asked questions
How warm is the Karpos Philipp Flamm Hoodie?
It is insulated with certified 90/10 duck down at 800 fill power, and Karpos rates it at the highest thermal insulation level, 5 out of 5. It is therefore suitable for cold days, both in the mountains and in the city.
Is it rain resistant?
The Pertex® Quantum fabric features a water-repellent DWR treatment, with no intentionally added PFAS, useful in damp conditions and light rain. It is not a waterproof membrane: in heavy rain, pairing it with a shell is recommended.
How does it fit and how much does it weigh?
The fit is Regular Fit, so it has a standard cut, neither tight nor loose. Karpos states a net weight of 390 g, and the model is available in sizes from XS to XXL.
Can it be compressed to fit in a backpack?
Yes: it is highly packable and comes with a down bag for storage. This means it takes up very little space in your backpack and stays close at hand for breaks.
