Mavic Aksium Thermo jacket: protection and thermoregulation for winter cycling
The Mavic Aksium Thermo jacket is a versatile solution for cycling in cold conditions, thanks to the strategic combination of two fabrics with different properties. The 3-layer softshell on exposed areas incorporates a 10K Schmerber waterproof membrane that creates an effective barrier against wind and moisture, while the brushed inner surface increases heat retention. Under the arms, a breathable structured fleece optimizes the release of metabolic heat during intense efforts, maintaining a stable thermal balance. The jacket is calibrated for optimal performance in the -5°C to 10°C range, with the ability to adapt through layered clothing to local variations in humidity and wind.
Pocket organization and practicality
The pocket layout is designed to meet the specific needs of touring cyclists. Three water-repellent rear pockets protect valuables from splashes and seepage, while two stretch mesh side pockets provide dedicated storage for snacks, keys, and spare gloves. This arrangement keeps essentials within easy reach without compromising weight distribution on the bike.
Visibility and safety in low-light conditions
Strategically placed reflective details on the chest and pockets increase visibility during winter rides in low light. This road safety feature meets the needs of riders in dim conditions, ensuring better visibility to motorists.
