Santini Alpha Insulated jacket: Thermal Protection and Comfort for Cycling
The Santini Alpha Insulated jacket is an advanced solution for those who ride in varying weather conditions. Designed with a technical approach, this garment combines innovative fabrics to deliver thermal insulation without sacrificing lightness. The outer layer in windproof fabric provides protection from the elements, while Polartec® Alpha™ based on Merino wool actively regulates body temperature while maintaining excellent breathability. This patented technology wicks moisture outward, ensuring a consistently dry feel even during prolonged efforts. The Polartec® Power Wool™ inserts placed on the back, underarms, and sleeve panels provide targeted insulation in critical areas, optimizing thermal comfort without adding overall weight to the garment.
Thermal Insulation and Moisture Management
The jacket’s layering system uses two complementary technologies to maximize insulation and breathability. Polartec® Alpha™ works as a dynamic midlayer, ideal for retaining warmth in motion, while Polartec® Power Wool™ provides additional insulation in areas prone to greater heat loss. This combination allows the garment to adapt to temperature fluctuations between 0°C and +10°C, keeping thermal regulation stable. The integrated Merino wool offers natural antimicrobial and odor-control properties, qualities valued during long-duration cycling activities. The rear elastic hem ensures a close fit in motion, preventing air infiltration and keeping the garment stable even on descents or through demanding corners.
Functionality and Construction Details
The jacket is equipped with four rear pockets, including one zip pocket for the secure storage of personal items, allowing you to carry essentials without compromising aerodynamics. The two-way front zipper allows precise ventilation adjustments, while the reflective details enhance visibility in low-light conditions, a critical feature for road cycling. The set-in sleeve construction ensures freedom of movement without shoulder tension, an important element for maintaining an aerodynamic position. All seams and finishes have been optimized for durability and long-lasting comfort, making this garment suitable for both cycling touring and more demanding riding across varied routes.
